Poetry

Poetry

I liked writing on you
inking my words along your limbs
licking at verses down your back
and stanzas across your torso

My fountain pen parted my lips
dipped into the folds of you
my parchment flesh
and moved with the rhyme and rhythm of our mouths

My lyric became my odyssey
haiku became sonnet
verse became chapter
story became novel

I created between the covers of you
etched prose along your spine
wrapped metaphors around your wrist
and printed allegories between the line of your finger tips

Letters of longing jumbled behind your knees
forgotten phrases nestled in your elbows
I covered you with written illustration
my book of love
